Just how long do McDonough resaws run? McDonough has just completed the rebuild of a 54” center split resaw we manufactured in 1970.

This machine was originally shipped to a company in Harrison, New Jersey, and since then has been in use in several mills across the country. McDonough was offered the opportunity to repurchase this machine a year ago from a mill in Wisconsin. We put it in storage knowing that a customer would soon come forward who appreciated its value. The new proud owner will receive delivery in July 2021.

The machine has been completely rebuilt by our factory technicians in our Eau Claire shop. Our team stripped it down to the bare frame to inspect every single part and formulate a rebuild plan to restore it to like-new condition. All damaged or worn parts were remade or replaced, the wheels faces were then turned and rebuilt with new wheel bearings. We also upgraded this resaw with a modern new hydraulic feedworks with an electronically controlled displacement pump that allows the user to change the feed speed instantly with the push of a button.

Equipped with a factory one-year warranty (same as a new machine), this 51-year-old machine is ready to roll for another 51 years or more!
