Controls Panel Assembler/Industrial Electrician
Skills and Experience:
- Construct PLC & VFD panels with VFD’s ranging from sub fractional HP up to 200HP.
- Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, point to point wiring schedules, and schematics.
- Organizing and meeting scheduling for assemblies, pursuant to company standards.
- Ability to identify inconsistencies in drawings and discrepancies in paperwork to ask or answer questions during the assembly process.
- Performing routine tasks in preparation for assembly, such as cutting wire to specified size, stripping, and fastening terminal connections.
- Layout, drill, punch, tap, and mounting of components in sheet metal enclosures.
- Safe use of common hand tools and power tools including wire cutters, crimpers, drills, taps, knockouts, jig saws, band saws to prepare and assemble components.
- Din rail and wire duct to complete electrical panels to print.
- Neatly routing and bundling wires and cables according to established electrical standards, wiring and labeling as appropriate, for example: choosing appropriate wire colors and gauges to complete wiring to all applicable codes, specifications and regulations.
- Maintaining working knowledge of applicable electrical standards such as NEC, UL, and NFPA.
- Field wiring of control cabinets into machinery if needed.
- Assist Engineers and Electrical Control Technicians with machine startup and debug.
- Ensuring work meets project specifications and quality standards.
- Completing projects within allocated project hours and by due date.
- Working closely with the electrical engineering team to resolve any issues.
- Exercising safe work habits and maintaining a clean and safe working area.
- Diagnosing and repairing problems on our HVAC/Lighting/CNC Equipment
- Predict usage based upon upcoming projects and maintain inventory of electrical consumables.
