Gregory Lumber Project

High-speed linear edger with reman head

In the fall of 2019, McDonough Canada shipped a high-speed linear edger with a reman head to repeat customer Gregory Lumber Inc., a Southern yellow pine mill in Virginia. This piece of equipment represents a significant investment for Gregory Lumber that will optimize their edging operation and reduce the bottleneck at the horizontal resaw, while providing significant payback in terms of yield. With a crew of fifteen shop team members, this project took approximately three months to complete at our Mactaquac, NB location.

John Gregory, along with his wife and family, has operated Gregory Lumber Inc. for over thirty years and is known for being very community-minded. John has spoken about his desire to help his community through the expansion of his mill and the creation of secure jobs for the families of those who work at the mill or within the local industry that supports it.
